What is the SELPA 1 CAC?
"SELPA" stands for Special Education Local Plan Area, as it is
defined by the state Office of Education. SELPA 1 includes all the
public schools in the cities of Los Altos, Palo Alto, and Mountain View.
"CAC" stands for Community Advisory Committee. Formed in 1994, the
SELPA 1 CAC is a group of people — mostly parents of children with
special needs along with district administrators and special education
staff — who work on a wide range of issues related to special
education.
Get Involved! If you are the parent of a special needs
child in Los Altos, Mountain View or Palo Alto, the CAC Steering Committee
needs you! We meet
the first Monday of each month during the school year, from 9-11 AM, in the Special Education portable at the
Mountain View-Los Altos Union High School District Office, 1299
Bryant Avenue, Mountain View.
